Premature Baby Unit at the Castle Street Hospital for Women and Children

The Castle Street Hospital-Premature Baby Unit (CSH PBU) caters to all deliveries of the hospital and is also a referral centre for complicated pregnancies needing special management of neonatal babies. It is over 50 years old, was in a state of disrepair and required urgent improvements to the conditions and upgradation of the facilities in order to bring the hygiene standards to the required level.

The first two stages were funded from public donations raised through the Club's annual charity events and the third stage was funded by New Zealand Milk Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd.

With the above refurbishment and improvements the CSH PBU is now in a better position to offer high quality free health care to underprivileged sections of our society.
